1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Donation Station application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Donation Station is a mobile application that enables charitable organizations to accept contactless donations. The App integrates with SumUp payment processing and provides features for Gift Aid capture and custom branding.
3. Eligibility
The App is intended for use by registered charities, religious organizations, and non-profit entities. By using the App, you represent that:
- You are authorized to act on behalf of your organization
- Your organization is legally permitted to accept donations
- You have a valid SumUp merchant account
4. Payment Processing
Payment processing is provided by SumUp, a third-party service. You must comply with SumUp's terms of service and acceptable use policies. Donation Station is not responsible for payment processing issues, disputes, or chargebacks.
5. Subscription and Fees
Free Tier
The Free tier includes basic donation functionality at no cost.
Premium Tier
The Premium tier costs £5 per month and includes additional features such as Gift Aid capture and custom branding. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and can be cancelled at any time.
6. Gift Aid Compliance
If you use the Gift Aid feature, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring your organization is registered with HMRC for Gift Aid
- Verifying donor eligibility for Gift Aid
- Submitting Gift Aid claims to HMRC
- Maintaining proper records as required by HMRC
7. Data Protection
You are the data controller for any donor personal information collected through the App. You must comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. Please see our Privacy Policy for information about how we process data.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Collect donations for fraudulent purposes
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on the rights of others
- Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
